The Fall ASMT
Conference, “Are You Thinkin’ What I’m Thinkin’? Theory of Mind:
Where Social Cognition, Language Development, & Behavior Meet.” is
a fabulous opportunity for your company or organization to show your support
of ASMT and our mission. We are bringing in a nationally recognized
author and speaker, Diane Twachtman-Cullen, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, to help parents
and educators learn about Theory of Mind in individuals with autism spectrum
disorders.
ASMT needs the support
of businesses such as yours to meet the costs of this training. Please consider
sponsoring ASMT’s 2008 Fall Conference; your generous support will enable
ASMT to reach more families and to provide supports and services that will

Sponsorship Letter
A 2007 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report found that 1 in
150 children born in America today will be diagnosed with an autism spectrum
disorder (ASD) – a neurological condition that impairs a person’s social,
behavioral and sensory development. In science and technology-focused communities
such as Middle Tennessee, that average is even higher.
There are many reasons
for hope. Early diagnosis and intervention have demonstrated dramatic results.
Instead of facing a world of social isolation, depression and abuse, children
and adults on the autism spectrum are receiving therapies that teach them
to navigate the social world and nurture their exceptional gifts.
The Autism Society
of Middle Tennessee (ASMT) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated
to promoting autism awareness and helping to ensure that individuals with
autism and their families receive appropriate, effective services. Through
our workshops, orientations, conferences, information and referral office,
library, and web site, we serve a large and diverse population of individuals,
families, and professionals.
Currently, ASMT
has a network of over 2000 families and individuals in over 46 counties of
Middle Tennessee who directly benefit from our services. However, these families
represent only a fraction of the families who are living with autism differences
in our region. We must do more. With YOUR help, we CAN do more.
Thank you for your support of ASMT.
